Genesis 1:1-2

Genesis 1:1-2

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was chaos and waste, darkness was on the surface of the deep, and the Ruach Elohim was hovering upon the surface of the water.

The earth was chaos and waste

This is the time that all began. It assures us that Adonai Elohim is in control and we are His people. As Psalm 100 tells us, acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us and we are his. He made us, we did not make us and we are not God!

Adonai Elohim took nothing and created the very physical basis of our existence, the heavens and the earth.. and the Ruach Elohim hovered over the chaos of the earth and the darkness of the sea. Right here in verse 2 of Genesis, we see that God is plural.

This is the basis of all belief in Elohim, God. It is an event so far beyond our ability and understanding that if we can grasp this, all of God’s word will fall into place. When we attempt to fit God into our own tiny understanding we allow humanism to creep into our concept of God’s greatness in relation to ourselves.

Be assured today, God is in control.

The very stars will sing

Let us sing the God of glory who has set the stars in place

When we look around us, and we see the amazing detail in creation, in the beauty of the land, the amazing sweep of the heavens, the mighty strength of the weather and the sea, we can be sure that God’s plan for Creation and by extension for us, began before the earth and heavens were formed . He has known us since then!

Today, look around you at Creation, at the unsullied beauty and perfection of God’s perfect plan and believe!
