Genesis 1:3-5

Genesis 1:3-5
Then God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light. God saw that the light was good. So God distinguished the light from the darkness.God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” So there was evening and there was morning—one day.

Then God said… “Let there be light” and there was light

This is a time of greatness and revelation. The sun was not created until the fourth day but there is light now, the first day. At this time we realise that when Adonai spoke, the Word came into being. That the Word, Yeshua, Jesus, Prince of Peace, Redeemer and Saviour, is present at the time of Creation. The light comes from/ is the third part of the Trinity, the Word, Yeshua, Jesus, Prince of Peace. Yeshua himself tells us in John 8:12 that He is the Light of the World. He is the spiritual light of the world and where he is not, is spiritual darkness.

When we look around us, where are we looking for our peace and light? Are we looking to the gods of this world, money, information, power, drugs, sex to fill our emptiness? Are we looking at pagan gods through new age beliefs, paganism, animism and other beliefs and religions that have sprung up?. Many of the modern idols and false religions take part of the truth and corrupt it with humanism or cultural beliefs, declaring them to be the truth. In this fallen world, we find it easy to hold on to false idols and constantly seek things we can worship. John Calvin tells us that our heart is an idol factory.  We constantly seek things to fill it but Adonai tells us he will spit people who follow false gods/ idols out

This is a time of great spiritual darkness in the world.  We know that darkness is the absence of light. At this time, more than any time through history, when we have the world at our fingertips, there is a great need for spiritual discernment and the sharp edge of the sword of the word to keep our focus on Yeshua. As was described in Matthew 4:16, He is the truth, the light and the way.

Yeshua the Light of the World

Read Read 1 John 5:21, Collossians 3:5, Psalms 16:4, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Corinthians 6:9 and John 1:5, John 8:12, 1 John 1:5-9 and John 12:35-37.

Are you feeling as though your world is in darkness or you have lost your way? Reach out to the light of the world and ask prayerfully for light to be shone in the darkness so you can seek His peace and saving grace.

Yeshua, Light of the World, thank you for coming to earth to show us the way. Thank you Jesus that you did away with the ambiguity of worship and have shone a light for us to follow and find our way home. Please help me to find my way back to you. Please show me where I have made false idols and begun to worship them. Yeshua, I want to worship only the Father, help me to discern these idols and false beliefs and cast them to the outermost darkness.

Help me Yeshua.

Amen
